Requirements for re-checks for repeat medication
Your pet will need to attend the surgery for regular medication check ups.
This is a legal requirement and allows the vet to provide the best treatment for you pet, monitor your pet’s response to treatment and the suitability of the medication. The frequency of medication rechecks will usually be every 3-4 months* or as directed by the attending vet. New guidance from the RCVS from September 2023 does restrict the supply of some medications which MUST have a physical check before each dispense. Visit here for more details

Written Prescriptions are available from this practice.
You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines Category V (POM Vs) from your veterinary surgeon or ask for a prescription ( £18.50 per item) and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or pharmacy. Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM Vs only for animals under their care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or if immediate treatment is necessary. You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal. The standard charge for re-examination is £45.00. The current prices for the ten POM Vs most commonly prescribes are displayed in the client information folder on reception. Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.
